How It Works

It could be me. It could be you. It could be your neighbor or your cousin. In fact, it probably is.

Loss of income, life changes, and other challenges creep up. And before they know it, debt overwhelms them and the future feels bleak.

These are not strangers. They are our brothers and sisters, members of our own community. We’re here to help families who have fallen on hard times. With short-term cash infusions, connections to coaching and other resources, we work together to restore financial stability and long-term sustainability.

Our Approach:
A Hand-Up, Not a Handout

We believe in offering a hand-up, not a handout. This means we focus on providing the tools, resources, and guidance that enable families to regain control of their lives and achieve sustainable financial independence.

Our support requires your full participation and commitment to ensure the best outcomes. We will work alongside you, but your dedication is crucial to the process.

Success Stories

Batsheva's Road to Stability

Batsheva is a mother of over ten children. Her husband was not working, and they were nearly evicted. We started by being a listening ear when she was overwhelmed and at the brink of collapse. We assisted them with much-needed resources, getting her the help she needed. We helped her secure a job. They’re now on their way to better stability.

Avigail's Path to Self-Sufficiency

Avigail is a mother of four with an absentee ex-partner. She was overwhelmed and had nowhere to turn. We helped her by first and foremost being real people who wanted to help. We aided her in getting her debt under control, connected her to local resources and financial assistance, secured weekly cleaning help, and paid for two months’ rent. We also helped her find work that fit her schedule.

Yochanan's Journey to Wholeness

Yochanan is a rabbi who was severely depressed. He had nowhere to turn, and his wife didn’t know about their lack of income, as he hid it well. We paid for therapy and coaching to help him get back to a place where he could be a healthy spouse and father. Yochanan is now on the way to financial and marital stability.

FAQs:

As members of the Orthodox Jewish community, our focus is on helping people in our community, whose struggles, strengths, and social structure we are best equipped to understand and work with.

Your identity is 100% safe, and our staff will not share personal details beyond our organization. However, we must know who you are (asking for referrals as needed) and interact with you directly in order to assist you

Our experience has shown that it is very difficult to make lasting change if both spouses are not on board. We will only work with a couple of both husband and wife are open to doing the work needed to make it happen.

There are times when we give one-time financial infusions. However, this is a small part of what we do and never comes in isolation. Rather, it is part of a comprehensive package that includes financial restructuring, job training, mental health counseling and whatever else is necessary to set our clients up for long-term success.

No. As a rule, our model is one of working toward long-term stability, not short-term cash assistnace or loans.
